Application | diethyl butyneate is a carboxylic acid ester organic substance, which can be used as an organic intermediate. |
preparation | acetylene dicarboxylic acid (25.00g, 0.22 mol, 1 eq) dissolve in a mixture of 150 ethanol and 150 mL benzene. P-toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate (4.17g, 0.02 mol, 0.1 eq) was added to the reaction mixture. Reflux the solution using a Dean-Stark trap for 16 hours until water was quantitatively recovered (-7.9 mL). The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature. The solvent was removed in vacuo. The oily residue was vacuum distilled (p = 0.5 mbar,T = 70 ° C.) to obtain the product. |
